The Story

Africa's Iconic Wilderness

Lake Natron is a salt and soda lake located in the Arusha Region of northern Tanzania, near the Kenyan border. Its extreme alkalinity and temperatures up to 60°C make it inhospitable to most life, but perfect for the millions of Lesser Flamingos that breed here.

Dominated by the active volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai (Mountain of God), the landscape is otherworldly with red waters and white salt flats. This remote destination offers authentic Maasai encounters and spectacular sunrise/sunset photography.
